new shoulder bags available in the shop tomorrow. details in the previous post and additional sneak peek photos here.

shop update info

i am going to do things just a little differently this time around. i will have five new styles of shoulder bags available tomorrow (monday march 1st). i am making a few of each of these, so i will list half of them in the morning (10am EST) and the other half in the evening (8pm EST), to make the times convenient for as many people as possible. i finished one of each style in order to have them photographed in time for tomorrow's update. the remainder are in various stages of completion, so they may take up to one week to be finished and prepared for shipping. please keep this in mind if you do decide to purchase one.

as promised, there will be three styles of small shoulder bags with an extra long strap so that they can be worn across the chest.

the abigail bag. made from vintage woven cotton upholstery fabric in yellow and cream damask. there is a bit of mustard yellow vintage canvas on the back and strap, and the flap is embellished with a vintage beige button. finished with vintage brown faux leather piping. (there will be 3 available in the 10am update and 2 in the evening update)

the chloe bag. made from vintage heavy woven cotton with a nice texture to it in a beautiful shade of deep ochre. there is a bit of sueded caramel brown vintage upholstery fabric on the back, and the flap is embellished with a vintage cream colored crocheted cotton doilie. finished with vintage brown faux leather piping. (there will be 2 available in the morning update and three in the evening update)

the emma bag. made from an excellent vintage pale blue denim, contrasted by a bit of vintage very dark denim on the back. finished with a wooden button and vintage brown faux leather piping. (there will be 3 available in the morning update and 2 in the evening update)

the martha tote. this one is a tote-style shoulder bag, made from vintage corded canvas in a shade of green somewhere between army and deep olive. embellished with a vintage cream colored crocheted cotton doilie and finished with vintage brown faux leather piping and khaki cotton webbing straps. (there will be one available in the morning up date and one in the evening update)

tough ruffles tote in pale aqua and blue-green. this one is made from vintage pale aqua sueded canvas, with a perfect shade of vintage blue-green ruffles. the back is vintage very dark denim. finished with vintage brown faux leather piping and two medium brown leather handles cut from a repurposed vintage leather skirt. (there will be 2 available in the morning and 2 in the evening).

more sneak peek photos can be found on my flickr page.

i hope this helps a little. i am trying my best to be better organized and keep up with etsy communications and updates, but as i have said before, i am only one lady and there are only so many hours in each day. i will try to have at least a few more shoulder bags ready toward the end of this coming week, but most of my time will be focused on finishing up a new batch of stitched illustrations that will go on display in march.

hank and frank

this morning i awoke to more snow. we have had snowstorm after snowstorm here in philadelphia these past weeks, and though it is pretty, at this point i am kind of over it. i want to be able to ride my bike every day again and i want to see some cherry blossoms, dammit.

i am still working on a new set of sewn illustrations for a show i have with adriane dalton that opens on the second friday in march, so i have not been doing nearly as much madebyhank-ing as i would like.

i apologize that the virtual shelves of my shop have been so bare lately. i added a few zipper purses this morning, and i have some new shoulder bags in the works, and will hopefully have a shop update together by this monday. there will be some smaller shoulder bags with longer straps that can be worn across the chest and some tote-style bags, as well as a few tough ruffles bags.

also, i received such an overwhelming response to this bag (thank you everyone!) that i decided to make a few in similar fabrics to add to the shop as well. i will post sneak peek photos over the weekend and an exact time when it is a little closer and i have a better idea of when i can finish everything.

hope everyone is keeping warm and having fun!

xo,
hank

today and tomorrow

i just snuck two small shoulder bags into the shop, if you would like to take a look. i was lucky enough to happen upon a little more of that fabric, one of my most favorite florals. i have a few others in the works as well.

yesterday i finished up three new sewn illustrations for a group show i am excited to be a part of with a few other ladies. the show opens tomorrow (friday, feb 5th), at vagabond boutique in old city, philadelphia. if you are in town, stop by and say hello.

in typical katie henry fashion, i was stitching those until the very last possible moment before they had to be delivered, so i have not yet had the chance to photograph them. but the plan is to arrive early tomorrow, in time to snap a few quick shots so that i can share them with you and you can see what i have been up to.
