shop update info

i am going to do things just a little differently this time around. i will have five new styles of shoulder bags available tomorrow (monday march 1st). i am making a few of each of these, so i will list half of them in the morning (10am EST) and the other half in the evening (8pm EST), to make the times convenient for as many people as possible. i finished one of each style in order to have them photographed in time for tomorrow's update. the remainder are in various stages of completion, so they may take up to one week to be finished and prepared for shipping. please keep this in mind if you do decide to purchase one.

as promised, there will be three styles of small shoulder bags with an extra long strap so that they can be worn across the chest.

the abigail bag. made from vintage woven cotton upholstery fabric in yellow and cream damask. there is a bit of mustard yellow vintage canvas on the back and strap, and the flap is embellished with a vintage beige button. finished with vintage brown faux leather piping. (there will be 3 available in the 10am update and 2 in the evening update)

the chloe bag. made from vintage heavy woven cotton with a nice texture to it in a beautiful shade of deep ochre. there is a bit of sueded caramel brown vintage upholstery fabric on the back, and the flap is embellished with a vintage cream colored crocheted cotton doilie. finished with vintage brown faux leather piping. (there will be 2 available in the morning update and three in the evening update)

the emma bag. made from an excellent vintage pale blue denim, contrasted by a bit of vintage very dark denim on the back. finished with a wooden button and vintage brown faux leather piping. (there will be 3 available in the morning update and 2 in the evening update)

the martha tote. this one is a tote-style shoulder bag, made from vintage corded canvas in a shade of green somewhere between army and deep olive. embellished with a vintage cream colored crocheted cotton doilie and finished with vintage brown faux leather piping and khaki cotton webbing straps. (there will be one available in the morning up date and one in the evening update)

tough ruffles tote in pale aqua and blue-green. this one is made from vintage pale aqua sueded canvas, with a perfect shade of vintage blue-green ruffles. the back is vintage very dark denim. finished with vintage brown faux leather piping and two medium brown leather handles cut from a repurposed vintage leather skirt. (there will be 2 available in the morning and 2 in the evening).

more sneak peek photos can be found on my flickr page.

i hope this helps a little. i am trying my best to be better organized and keep up with etsy communications and updates, but as i have said before, i am only one lady and there are only so many hours in each day. i will try to have at least a few more shoulder bags ready toward the end of this coming week, but most of my time will be focused on finishing up a new batch of stitched illustrations that will go on display in march.

Y'know, I am re-visiting your blog 'cause I haven't been around in a while. I've always admired your work, and what your stand for (in handmade greatness!). I came upon your more recent blog post about people getting angry that they couldn't buy a bag.

I want to reiterate that you by no means deserve their "nasty" (I can only imagine!) comments.

It sounds like they need a lesson in what it means to be able to purchase such a crafted item to begin with. And, they take their privilege to be able to purchase for granted, for GRANTED! I would be happy to be patient in waiting to purchase one of your works.

They're a bunch of rich, spoiled ninnies.

Have a good day!
